by L. M. Montgomery
book cover

Quite enjoyed it, I did a mix of reading it and a mix of the audio book based on my availability. Just finished it out today. I really loved the development of Anne's relationships with others, and having it finish out with her and Gilbert becoming friends was a very nice touch. Would definitely read again.

by Joanne Fluke
book cover

The story kicks off when Reverend Bob Knudson and his wife, Claire, embark on a long-awaited honeymoon. To fill in during their absence, Bob's childhood friend, Matthew Walters, a Lutheran minister with a penchant for sweets, arrives in town. However, the serene setup takes a dark turn when Hannah discovers Matthew dead in the rectory, face-down in a plate of Devil’s Food Cake, a single bullet wound marking his demise. The only witness? A mynah bird that cryptically squawks, “The wages of sin is death.” Determined to uncover the truth, Hannah delves into Matthew’s past, uncovering secrets that suggest his life was far from saintly. As she navigates a web of suspects, including a paroled convict cousin and a mysterious dollar coin, Hannah must sift through the clues to find the killer before they strike again.
